It’s okay to take a break

Not sure who needs to hear this besides me, but it’s so true.

And guess what, you do not need anyone else’s permission!

Let me repeat that.

You do NOT need anyone else’s permission!

Nor sweet friend, do you need anyone else’s approval!

The world can be hard. The world can be heavy. It can feel like you can’t take one more step further and all of a sudden you understand the meaning of “the straw that broke the camel’s back.”

It’s ok to take a break.

Maybe life is good! Perhaps, life is on track but has been going a million miles a minute. Schedules can get overwhelmingly busy. It seems weird when you experience it, but too much of a good thing can get be too much.

It’s ok to take a break.

Perhaps there’s nothing overwhelmingly bad or good going on in your life. Maybe you’re just trudging through your everyday normal life. Sometimes the repetitive play of life needs an intermission more than the highs or lows.

It’s ok to take a break.

I don’t know where you are in life, but if this message rings true…

take. a. break.

Say no to the next invite. Say no to signing your kids up for the next sports activity and say yes to letting them spend time at the grandparents’ or neighbor’s house. Say yes to that coffee date with your friend you never have time for. Put your computer away, and sink into a good book or movie.

Just take a break.

And, not that you need it, but if it makes you feel better, here’s your permission slip girlfriend!

Signed by yours truly.
