Climbing to your peak

For those of you who are Peloton fans, you’ve experienced those peak rides. The ones that mimic riding up a mountain or hill to its summit.

I did one of these rides the other day and the parallels to life were not lost on me.

So often in life we are working towards a goal or trying to implement changes in our lives. Heck, maybe life has thrown us curveballs that we didn’t see coming. These curveballs act as our mountains that we didn’t want, and didn’t ask for, but nonetheless we have to climb them.

As we push and get closer and closer to the goal, or to overcoming the obstacle in life, instead of getting easier, it can feel that things are getting harder and harder. The climb is getting steeper, the air is getting thinner, your muscles are fatiguing, your mind is telling you can’t keep going… this mountain you’re climbing seems insurmountable.

Keep going friend! You can do it!

Maybe you’re like me on the bike. Maybe you have to slow your cadence or even take a break. Do it. But do NOT stop.

The peak is coming! The view from the top will be one for the books! And with every peak in a ride, comes the thrill of coasting down the other side!

Keep going friend! I can’t wait for you to experience the relief, pride and joy that comes with coasting down the other side of that mountain!

What mountain are you climbing? Does the summit feel insurmountable? Take some time to reflect on it. Imagine that feeling of coasting down the other side!
